a vote of thanks
Dear Priya,
i had first met you at indore during your padyatra in 1987, than as life progressed and my mother was treated at tata memorial parel, it was a great relief to see your father's concern about cancer patients.later as life moved my husband was transferred to mumbai from ahmedabad.i had to make subsiquent arrangements for my two daughters school admission and i was sure if i m in priya's city, i know somebody.i m glad they got admission but the feeling of ownness still prevails that there is one person in this city to whom i can always count for help. i also love india and wish to play a part in its constant growth and development. looking forward for the great country. my best wishes for u and ur family.

St. Stanislaus & St. Peter's
Dear Priya,
I do not need to reiterate all the arguments and protests put forth by all the other bloggers. However, I want to register my concern regarding the proposed reckless BMC acquisition of land from St. Stanislaus School & St. Peter’s church for road widening. I think that it is outrageous and unacceptable, especially since I am sure there are other options that will save and protect these key heritage sites, as well as many other sites. Unless of course ALL these options have been evaluated and are no-go’s.
Has anyone thought of building a ‘flyover’ or elevated road/expressway paralleling Hill Road, so that one can completely bypass driving through the area, if one has to do so? It is conceivable to have the concrete pylons based in/on Hill Road & use the space in between for a one way system or parking etc, etc. I am sure we can be a little more creative rather than destructive. Many other countries and developing cities have been through this process, what is the problem here? There are examples of this all over the Far east, e.g. Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong.
I am sure after reading through the blogs in this issue that you will/are already doing what you can, and whatever it takes to prevent the destruction from occurring.
Regards,
Pam
Dear Pam,
You must be aware by now, that it is due to the efforts of Ms. Priya Dutt ji and others that the project has be stalled for now.

Support the citizens
Dear Priya Dutt
You must have read the wonderful news that the citizens of Juhu constituency have put up a clean, honest independent candidate for the forthcoming municipal elections. This is the first step towards cleaning the filthy political system that Mumbai have today.
Please let us know how you will support this trend so that Mumbai can be saved.
Also will you support a similar candidate like Edwin Britto from Bandra.

St. Stanislaus & St. Peters
dear priya'
I'm an ex-student of st. stanislaus high school. i developed as an individual in this school and sports helped me acheive this. it is very disheatning to hear of bmc aquiring land from school for road widening when already there is a scarcity of open areas/playgrounds for children. also our church is an heritage site and itr is the responsibility of every bandraite and mumbaite to protect its heritage. i request u to plese look into this matter wid urgency.
also congrats to u nd ur brother

Save Stanislaus School
Dear Priya,
I'm an ex student of Stanislaus and it is very disappointing to read of the land aquisition from the school for road widening. Kindly seek other measures than to tamper an institution of such repute and brilliance.
Regards,
Arnab

Saving St. Peters, St Andrews and Tata Agiary
Dear Priya,
I am saddened by the news that the BMC plans to wantonly reposses land belonging to the Agiary and the Churchs. This is really not right and will not help in the aim to improve traffic. Traffic would be better improved if there were traffic lights -- functioning traffic lights along hill-road or make the road one-way.
This issue has really angered a lot of the people here. Please could you help out?
Regards,
Savio

St. Peters & St. Andrew's walls
Hello,
I am a member of your constitution and am highly displeased with the manner in which the Congress government is aiming to destroy heritage structures like St. Peters, St. Andrews and the Tata Agiary.
This road-widening is nothing more than an excuse to pander the builder's lobby.
I voted for you and the Congress last time, but this time I am of the mind to get the citizens of Bandra to vote en masse and get the Congress out of power in the BMC, the state and nation-wide since they do not seem to want to help their constituents but only to pander to vested interests.
Regards,
Deepak
Dear Deepak,
Good wishes to you. We share your concerns and those of the other residents of the affected area. M.P. Priya Dutt ji has already met the Municipal Commisioner and spoken to him several times on the issue. MLA Baba Siddique has also met the Commisioner. The BMC is ruled by the Sena-BJP combine but leaders cutting across party line like Shri Gopinath Munde ji are supporting us in the cause.
We are working towards and hopeful of bringing about a positive settlement.
