unwanted speedbreakers at Anant Kanekar Marg, Bandra station
Respected Ma'am
I work in office located at bkc for which i travel by train from kandivli (place of residence) to bandra by train.
we catch a bus from bandra east near the station (which comes from the bandra terminus) and the bus when it takes a left turn towards Anant Kanekar Marg; right from the turn till the anant kanekar police chowky THERE ARE THREE ELEVATED SPEEDBREAKERS which when the best bus or any vehicle passes bumps in such a way that daily there are two to three incidents of head bashing against the inner roof of best buses or there are occasions where people get a jerk and lose the balance because of three speed breakers.
MAY I REQUEST YOU TO GET THIS ISSUE EXAMINED BYT HE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES AND ENSURE THAT EITHER THE HEIGHT OF THE SPEEDBREAKERS IS REMOVED (AND REPLACED BY WAVES TYPE RUMBLING STRIPS) OR COMPLETELY DISMANTLED as i do not foresee any need for speedbreaker in this route as already due to illegal parking and the hutment people continuously on the move the traffic already moves at a very slow speed.
SINCE BANDRA EAST FALLS UNDER YOUR JURISDICTION, I PERSONALLY REQUEST YOU IN THE INTEREST OF TRAVELLING PUBLIC TO GET THE ISSUE OF 3 SPEEDBREAKERS EXAMINED AND ACCORDINGLY INITIATE ACTION AS YOU MAY THINK DEEM FIT.
Awaiting a favourable action from you.

AGNI, MPs join jands to improve rail services
Respected Priya Dutt Ma'am
City Based NGO AGNI very recently convened a meeting with you and Sanjay Nirupam, MP to discuss about the travelling problems.
Ma'am I have been continuously mailing to Mr. Sanjay Nirupam about the travelling travails of W Rly and the delay and harassment faced by the Borivli commuters in particular. Sanjay Nirupam prefers to acknowledge my mails only with a word for consolation that " i shall get in touch with you". I only presume that due to severe preoccupations he is not in a position to give feedback to my e mails.
NOW MY ONLY HOPE RESTS ON YOU MA'AM :
1. I am a regular travellerby w rly and reside in Kandivli west. The following are the problems faced by Borivli commuters daily to which I request you to please make a serious note of it and also with an expectattion to redress the same :
1. Of late women commuters hve increased by leaps and bounds esp. first class commuters. THERE IS AN URGENT NEED TO ALLOCATE ONE EXTRA FULL COACH (I.E. THREE DOORS) TO THE LADIES FIRST CLASS. Because in W Rly both in 9 and 12 car rakes there is just one- half compartment attached to the ladies general coach and the condition of the ladies in first class is really pitiable.
2. All toilets at railway stations are totally unkempt and unhygenic and a stench emanates throughout the day with no railway official caring to maintain it.
3. IT IS HIGH TIME THAT RAILWAY THINK OF CONVERTING ALL BORIVLI RAKES TO 12 CAR AS HARDLY 56% OF THE TRAINS HAVE BEEN CONVERTED TO 12 CAR WHEREAS FOR VIRAR TRAINS 100% CONVERSION RATE HAS ALREADY BEEN ACHIVED.
4. I HAD REQEUSTED MR SANJAY NIRUPAM JI TO INCLUDE ME AS A COMMITTEE MEMBER WHENEVER THE PROBLEMS OF RAILWAY TRAVELLNG IS BEING DISCUSSED WITH THE RAILWAY OFFICIALS AS WELL AS THE TIMETABLE COMMITTEE.
I THEREFORE REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE CONSIDER MY NAME FOR ANY MEETING WITH PASSENGER ASSOCIATIONS AS ALSO RAILWAY OFFICIALS.
MA'AM PRIYA DUTT I CHALLENGE THAT IF I AM CALLED FOR TO GIVE SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE TIMTABLE FOR W RLY SUBURBAN TRAINS, I CAN ENSURE THAT WITH MY SUGGESTIONS THE LOST PUNCUTALITY OF W RLY CAN BE RESTORED.
=======================================
MAY I TAKE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO ATLEAST EXPCT A REPLY OR A CALL FROM YOU TO MEET YOU IN PERSON SO THAT I CAN AIR MY GRIEVANCES.
AWAITING YOUR FEEDBACK WITH BATED BREATH.

Illegal HMAC PLant
To,
Mrs. Priya Dutt
Subject: Illegal H. M. A. C Plant operation in density populated residential area
Respected Madam,
This is to bring to your kind notice that there is an illegal Cement Mixing Plant operating within 10 meters of a density populated area in Sutar Pakhadi, Sahar village, Vile parle East, Mumbai 99. A complaint had been made to Vile Parle police station on 16th April 2009 and police personal from vile parle police station visited the site. An assurance was given by the police saying that they would speak to the concerned management and necessary action would be taken to move the plant. As of today, there has been no action taken and the plant is still operating in full steam for 24hrs.
I would like to highlight the fact that this plant is causing innumerable difficulties for all the residents. There is continuous smog over the full area due to the operating of the plant. A hot-mix plant is used to produce hot-mix asphalt concrete (HMAC) which is used in the construction of highways, racetracks and airfields. Since the mixing of the materials is done at very high temperatures, the external environment is effected. Its usage is governed by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), whose permission has to be acquired. But I believe if they have the permission we are sure they must have bribe the authority to acquired it.
The dust and smoke had been entering in residents houses and complete interiors have been coated with this dust. Apart from this, the most serious matter is that this dust is causing sickness among the residents. Everyone including old sick people and small children are falling sick continuously and the most of the residents are having breathing problems. If this continues, the situation will become unmanageable and cause fatalities among the residents.
Also, with regards to the plant, local residents had approached the management and requested them to shift the plant. They not only refused to do so but in fact were very rude and told the residents, that they can take whatever step they want to take, but they will not shift. When asked to show their operating license, they told us we are no one to ask for the license.
We have confirmed information from reliable sources. That this plant is operating illegally without due permission from BMC / Ministry of Health Dept & MPCB and have flouted all rules and regulations in operating this plant. Firstly they don’t have the requisite permission and license to operate this plant in the residential area and secondly they are violating the Law of operating within a 200 meter radius from residential areas.
I sincerely urge you to take immediate action as soon as possible similar complaint was made on 20th April 2009 by the “Sutar Pakhadi Rahivasi Seva Sangh” but there was no action from any of the authority we hope and seek your immediate action

Air Pollution Complaint
We stay at Sutar pakhadi, Sahar village, vile parle east, Mumbai – 99 we people are facing a rare problem which is very susceptible. The problem is that in close by area inside the Aiprort Boundry very close to the boundry wall there is a factory which makes the Asphalt HOT MIX for the Run Way . Some kind of raw material is being used for their product and that raw material is burnt in an Boiler / Incinerator at temperature more than around 4500C. This process generates fumes / different kind of gases which are not being taken care off. Those fumes or gases are released directly in the environment all the way through the open air. This causes lots of nuisance in the surrounding environment. Many of us approached to the factory owner L&T for the same. This is air pollution Many of us approached to the company and police dept concerned of our area at Vile Parle Police Stn but of no use.
Firstly, to set up the company in this residental area should not have been allowed at all. How GVK had Airport Authority department have permited them to opearte a factory use in a densily populated residential area.
Secondly, due to dust senior citizens of our area getting stroke of Asthma and children gets Bronkities.
So the health effects are very serious in nature.
Yasin Khan: There fore we need your kind to look into this matter and STOP this deadly Plant from operatiing, thanking you in advance

Can you please help us, to for the same or please take further actions.
